Oil Museum

The old oil press in the Belluga building is now home to Segorbe's Oil Museum. This innovative interpretation centre gives visitors the chance to find out more about olive growing culture, delve into the world of the precious liquid gold and explore one of the essences of the Mediterranean dating back more than 7,000 years.

Las Rocas Museum

The Corpus Museum, also known as "Casa Museo Las Rocas", is in the city of Valencia. The museum is based in the old Casa de las Rocas and in an adjoining building that was recently restored to house part of the museum collection.

Alcalalí wine museum

This museum, formerly an oil mill, was used by farmers from the town of Alcalalí and the neighbouring villages to transform grapes and olives into wine and oil. The mill was closed in 1998, and all of the machinery for the production of wine and oil was left in it. The town hall restored the building and the machinery and the building was converted into the Wine Museum. Visitors can learn about the process of wine and oil production through informational brochures and see the machines that were used.

Grapevine and “Bodega Redonda” wine museum

This peculiar winery with a circular structure dates back to 1891. It was built with noble materials: rough-cut stone, solid brick, iron and wood; the product of nineteenth-century modernism. Known for its cone-shaped roof and ceiling, it consists of 2 buildings: a wine cellar and offices of the Regulatory Council. Today it is the Grapevine and Wine Museum of the Region of Valencia, in addition to the headquarters of the Regulatory Council and Wine Lovers Group.

Requena municipal museum

Located next to the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the museum’s halls exhibit an abundant amount of archaeological remains. The part of the museum dedicated to oenology shows the complete process of winemaking: from the preparation of the land, pruning of the vine and the harvest, as well as the passage of the grape through the winery and the bottling process. It also includes rooms dedicated to traditional clothing of the region and rural and urban housing between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The cloister of the convent is worth a visit to see its baroque vault.

Villa de Requena caves

Under the Historic-Artistic Centre of La Villa, there is a labyrinthine and interesting set of caves that have undergone different uses throughout history as homes, shelters, ossuaries, silos and wineries. These caves contain vessels that date back to the Middle Age, proof of Requena’s ancestral vocation to the art of cultivating vines and making wine.

Visiting Hours:

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 12.15 P.M. and 1 P.M.

Saint Mark's Hospital and Saint Clare's Convent

Hospital de Sant Marc (Saint Mark's Hospital) was an institution for poor people and travellers that remained active for more than 600 years, from the 14th century through to 1973. The institution was founded before the era of the Borgias, although it is attributed to Duke Alfonso el Viejo. Francisco de Borgia's mother acquired several buildings adjoining the hospital to extend it. The extension culminated with her son.

Evaristo Navarro Museum

The building has a rectangular layout and a striking appearance: a roof with classic arrangements of refractory bricks, an open-plan space, large glass windows... the building is in the town of Castelló de Rugat in the province of València, and houses the Museo-Taller de la Cerámica de Gerres (Gerres ceramics museum and workshop) containing artefacts from the archaeological digs carried out in the Palacio Ducal.
