In Region of Valencia, 30 municipalities have a total of more than 22,000 moorings at sailing facilities of various types, which makes them an ideal base for sailing excursions in the Mediterranean, as well as for winter storage and refit & repair of boats. The province of Castellón, with its 120km of coastline and a marine reserve (Columbretes Islands), it’s perhaps the least-known territory in the Region of Valencia. It, therefore, offers enclaves of untouched beauty, combining sandy and rocky beaches on practically deserted places. The area of Valencia is notable for its excellent sandy beaches with few slopes and a perfect water temperature, ideal for families, for lovers of navigation and sailing, as well as those looking to combine urban and gastronomic tourism with activities in the sea. The province of Alicante, better known as the Costa Blanca, offers an astonishing coastal landscape, with sandy and rocky beaches and welcoming and incredibly clear waters. Fifteen municipalities offer an extensive and varied range of nautical facilities with 10,000 moorings. In addition to its two marine reserves (Isla de Tabarca and Cabo San Antonio), the Alicante coasts offer the incentive of being the closest point between the mainland and the Balearic Islands (from Dénia it’s only 45 Nautical Miles to Ibiza). The Costa Blanca hosts sailing competitions all the year round, the most notable being the start of the Volvo Ocean Race every three years at Alicante.
