Visit the oldest aquarium in the Region of Valencia.
It is made up of 9 large seawater tanks displaying the main species of fauna and flora found this part of the Mediterranean. It’s a must if you want to learn more about the marine environment and an ideal complement to help you identify more species in your snorkelling sessions. Most of the species in the aquarium have been donated by the sailors from Santa Pola. The water is taken directly from the sea and, after treatment, it’s pumped to the aquariums.
The Esteban González Memorial ship is a trawler, the most important form of fishing in Santa Pola.
It’s located near the Town Council, in the Plaza Constitución. Visitors can take a guided tour of the most important parts of the ship (bridge deck, engine room, hold) to see what life was like on board and the major role of fishing in the economic and social development of the municipality.
